David R. DePriest, EIT, is currently a Director of Global Procurement for the largest printer in North America, Quad/Graphics, Inc. Quad/Graphics, Inc. currently has over 35 manufacturing locations in North America, 7 sites in Latin America, and a European presence in France and Poland with a labor force exceeding 22,000. David manages, purchases and contracts for power, natural gas, and propane for the North American footprint.
After completing his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Tennessee Tech, he began a 30+ year career in Engineering Management and Maintenance in Greenville, South Carolina with Milliken & Company. While working at Milliken & Company, David worked to develop the first Predictive Maintenance program for the company and gained certification in Ultrasonic Leak Detection as well as Infrared Imaging technologies. He was also the first to bring Root Cause Analysis into the maintenance department of Superior Essex in Franklin, Tennessee as their Manufacturing Engineering Manager.
David is active in several energy intervention groups across the U.S. In addition to his role with WVEUG, he is an active participant challenging rate cases across North America in WIEG (Wisconsin Industrial Energy Group), OIEC (Oklahoma Industrial Energy Consumers), Multiple Intervenors in New York and GAM (Georgia Association of Manufacturers).
David is an active member of AEE Middle Tennessee Chapter and held the 2017 Chapter President’s role while performing the duties of Webmaster for managing information on its website. He was also the Chairman of the 2017 Gary Moody Memorial Golf Scramble Committee bringing value to its members by providing financial assistance via scholarships to students who are attending local universities with a study emphasis in the energy fields. David was recently inducted into the Legends in Energy at the WEEC event held in 2016, and served as AEE Region II Vice President from 2018-2019.
